Garment Style:
We've decided to alter a large denim jacket for this project. We came to a jacket because it is somewhat like an accessory as it can be removed during the day for comfort. We decided on denim because of its heavy weight which will allow us to attach electronics without compromising the structure of the jacket, as well it is a piece that is easily customizable and suits all of our individual styles. We think vintage denim is having a moment in millennial fashion, as wear and use is visible and adds to the aesthetic while expressing the history of the garment.
Color Changing Clothing & Woven Fiber Optics
When researching what had been done in wearable previously to our project, we found very few examples of finished products that had been commercially produced. Most of the information we were able to gather came from Instructable project tutorials.
